(The “This page is not supported by your honored browser” page)
Well, it is mainly because of the fact that you are using the most infamous web browser in the galaxy, namely Internet Explorer from the filthy hand of M$. Or, shortly put, the web browser you are using, which is happened to be IE, sucks.
Sure. Guess which of the following screenshots are taken from IE 6, and which from Firefox 3:
I don’t know, maybe because its maker, M$, sucks so much.
Yah, color, colour. What’s the difference? They all from M$. Oh, if you are serious, IE 7 is in fact way better than the sixth version. So is IE 8. Despite that, they all suck in a similar way. IE 8 still has tons of CSS quirks. And concerning the alpha channel support of PNG image, if the image stays still, it’s ok. But if the image is moved (by javascript for example, like the ones in my home page), transparent works, while there will be noticeable alias around the edge of opaque area, which will result in a rather ugly rendering.
There are a number of things you can do. The first one is obviously choosing another web browser. It is not so hard as it sounds (seriously, why is it so hard for you guys to uninstall IE?). Here are some decent options:
Firefox, My browser of choice. The biggest advantage of it is the capacity of user customization.
Opera. A very compact browser with built-in email and IRC client, as well as remarkable CSS support. It is Fast and easy to use. I don’t use it because it is neither open-source nor free (as in freedom).
Safari 4, the elegant browser from Apple. This one is a real jewel. Elegant UI, stunning cover flow and top-sites feature, perfect CSS support, artistic font rendering (with assumption that you do not know how Freetype 2 renders), etc.
Chrome, Google’s newly produced browser. It is fast and secure, though its feature set is minimized.
There is yet another deed that you can perform: tell others about the sucky-ness of IE.
Ya, they — in spite of the fact that they are used by millions of M$-bounded Chinese people, and the fact that they are used by the as-evil-as-all-Chinese-commercial-websites taobao.com — suck.
